Established in 1996, we are a small company located in Rochester, Minnesota. For those of you not
familiar with Rochester, it is the home of the Mayo Clinic and the IBM AS/400. We are all
former IBM employees. Our backgrounds had different beginnings but came together in 1986
during the development of the AS/400. Our assignments at IBM included Engineering,
Programming, System Design, I/O Design, System Requirements, and Market Analysis. We have
an excellent skill mix and know the internals, externals, hardware and operating system of
the AS/400 very well. Robert Dubke has worked in product and advanced technology development as an engineer and programmer for more than 30 years with IBM and as an independent consultant. Software platforms include UNIX, Wintel and AS/400 platforms. Examples of his accomplishments are: Sold the project of developing the IBM 5292 Business Graphics workstation to IBM management, then created and lead the group that developed the actual product. § Created the video “leader board” solution used at the Augusta National Golf Course for the Master’s Tournament. § Conceived the original design for the IBM Networkstation, an intelligent graphical workstation for the AS/400. Proposed the first use of the AS/400 as an application Server. § Technical intermediary between Apple Computer, Inc. and IBM for display & printer emulators, SNA communication gateways and TCP/IP communications, and Database access. § Conceived and developed automated stress-test applications for the IBM AS/400 and UNIX systems that have resulted in a “dramatic increase in the amount and quality of testing done”. Robert is originally from Mankato, Minnesota. He has a BSEE (Electrical Engineering) from the University of Colorado. Mark Brown has more than 20 years of experience as both a hardware and software engineer. On the hardware side he has developed computer graphics drawing and display engines. On the software side he has created electronic design automation (EDA) and commercial applications for UNIX, Microsoft Windows, and AS/400 platforms. Examples of his accomplishments are: § Lead hardware designer for the IBM 5292 Business Graphics workstation. This included design of all Integrated Circuits (ICs) and the containing package related to computer graphics processing. § Lead architect and implementer of IBM's front-end IC design system based on the industry standard VHSIC Hardware Description Language (VHDL). This design system was ultimately used to develop the processor and various I/O ICs for the AS/400. § Participated in and held chairperson positions on committees of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) that were involved in the international standardization of VHDL. § Held Director and Project Engineering management positions for engineering groups responsible for the development of various EDA tools including VHDL simulation engines and code coverage testing applications. § Responsible for the setup, logistics, and management of remote engineering development groups. This included the setup of a remote office, network of UNIX and PC computers communicating with a home office, and the planning and implementation of an object oriented software development environment. Mark is originally from Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania. He has a BSEE (Electrical Engineering) from Pennsylvania State University. |
